YAAY HOW WAS CAMP EVERYONE?
TOTALLY EPIC YEAH?
Well I'm not going to do a full blown recap, but I'll try and talk about things that were cool.
Wednesday:
Well the bus ride there only took around 1 and half hours. And it felt like nothing. Ann was sitting next to me and she is so dodgy ==" hahhahahahhaa
When we got there, we put all our stuff in the cabins and went off to our activity groups! I was in group 1 and we did all these team work games with group 2. They were really fun. The skipping rope thing was SO ANNOYING. Omgsh it took us so long to get it.
And then there was lunch. I'm pretty sure it was hot dogs. I had a chicken one and a beef one. YUMMM.
I love hot dogs.
Our first activity was high ropes, and our instructor Shane came. Ahahhaha shane the sheep.
Omgsh high ropes was so scary. But I think I got over the nerves a bit. I mean, I've been on them 4 times now! I was still really creeped out on the type one. I MEAN HOLY CRAP HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MOVE WHEN THEY'RE JUST SWINGING??????? :'(
Then Simone and I had a luvo comp. OH gosh they were so horrible, I hope no one ever sees them!
After afternoon tea, we had alpine rescue. SO FUN. Luckily no one fell over, but the plank of wood was so fricken heavy. My arms were so sore the next day.
Then we took showers! Showering so was cool cuz we went to the boys bathroom on the other side of camp so there were no queues. Just the four of us. Except still, public showers aren't very cool.
For dinner we had pasta :( I dont especially like pasta, but I guess i can cope. And afterwards was Trivia!! HURRAY!
Our group had the BEST answers ever. I mean, hello? OFC the baboon in some movie is Osama bin Laden. pshhhhhhhh
ahahahaha ok, maybe we do suck at trivia, but WHO CARES!
The mini challenges in between were so funny. The one with the rowing was so hilarious. Everyone was like, hip thrusting the roof. And the weet-bix one was funny. I swear I just crushed the weetbix and let some of the crumbs drop on the floor so I didnt have to eat it all.
hehehehhehehehhee
Oh and the screaming comp was so painful to my ears. I had like, a mild headache afterwards D:
In the end we didnt even get 100 points :(
So BEDTIME. We practically just put all the matresses on the floor and slept on the floor, but before that, we played mafia! So cool. Except for the fact everyone kept killing me :'( I never survive! Not even close to the end! There was SOOOO much food. It was just a big pile in the middle of the mattresses. Dodgy....
We were so paranoid someone would come inside our cabin. One of the doors were un-lockable so we dragged a bunk bed in front of it to stop anyone getting in XD
All those stories of serial killers, etc didnt help.
After mafia, we all went on a massive excursion to the toilets ahahaha
Then everyone at least ATTEMPTED to go to sleep. Didnt really work. People were talking about VERY DODGY THINGS on the other side of the room.
I HEARD EVERY SINGLE DODGY WORD!!
But 2-3am I finally fell asleep but it wasn't very comfortable. I was just half asleep the whole time.
Thursday:
Well, everyone got woken at 6am and it was COMPLETELY COLD. FREEZING. UTTERLY FREEZING.
Washing my face and getting changed was so hard.
Breakfast was just toast and other things. Not much special.
The first activity was giant swing and that was so scary. I thought I was going to die. But I didnt. the Hauling was so tiring. Simone took a video of me, but that's just too embarrassing.
The next activity was caving. So scary. I thought someone was about to come and grab my hand in the middle of it. And the tunnels were so cool. Our team got through in 13 minutes! So pro man!
After caving we still had a long time to go, So we headed to the low ropes course! It was alright, kinda boring. The tires were still hard! I could barely stay onto them!
For lunch we had burgers, but they were pretty meh.
After lunch was our hike to Deeimba! It was pretty long and tiring. Christine was great entertainment.
When we got there, we got sorted into tents. We got a 5 person tent in the bottom campsite. AKA the sad lonerated one where you have to walk through the creepy walk way to get to the toilet at night.
We first had orienteering. SO FUN. our team was the pro-est! Lol I'd better take that back before Dora gets creeped out again xD
Marker No.1 was so hard. Dora and Lil had to climb down that huge clift.
And there was just SO much walking to do. It was crazy.
When we came back there was the campfire and we had dinner. Roast beef, except it was so boring and cold. At the campfire we sang song from the song book and roasted marshmellos!! YUMMM.
I love how they get gooey inside but crunch on the outside.
The group song challenges were so fun. Dancing to gee was COMPLETELY EMBARRASSING. omgsh why did we do that? xD
Then we joined the hurstvillers and did stuff like Nine to Five, Sexy Back, My heart will go on and the AAMI version of What about me.
hehehhee
The group instructors were really cool. They taught us the shark song, the shake your booty song and the I SAY A BOOM CHIKKA BOOM!
Too bad all good things come to an end and we had to go to sleep. THE TOILETS WERE THE SMELLIEST THINGS IN THE WHOLE WORLD. eurghh I almost vomited.
BUT to make up for it, the sky was just wonderful. It was like a dome of stars and it just felt like a dream. I'd never been camping before so that was just epic. The tents were really cosy too. We played some game involving a joker and everything was cool until Ms Lennon came around and make us go to sleep DAMMIT. ahaha
Surprisingly, I slept better in the tent than back at the cabins. Apparently I was sleep talking to Annie and I was RESPONDING. That's just weird......
Apparently I was talking about ducks. LOL
Waking up in the morning was so freezing. Even more freezing than back in Yarramundi.
SOMEHOW I managed to pull myself out of bed and wash my face etc.
Breakfast was so cold, and we were late so we had to stuff our brekky down hurriedly. So sad.
Our very last activity of the camp was abseiling and I was so proud of myself for getting down in one piece. I swear I was so convinced that I would fall off that cliff. There was no way just 2 ropes could hold me up like that.
BUT I did it! And on the way up were were all these bull ants. NOT COOL. They fricken JUMP when you're close to them and they're as long as the first join on my pinky. SCARY.
After abseiling, we hiked back to camp and had to walk back. We had our final lunch which were burgers, but they were still super nice.
We said our goodbyes to the instructors and group 1 did our cool adapted song for Shane. How nice.
So there comes the end of our great adventure at Yarramundi! I really miss camp now. I wish it was for the whole week. 3 days is just not enough! Technically it was only 2 days but oh well...
People didnt really like the fact that we had a heap of suitcases, but TOO BAD!
The only thing I was happy about was the fact that my bathroom was so wonderful. Oh how I missed a good bowl of rice and a nice hot shower. Plus, my hair was utterly disgusting. SO GROSS. Not funny.
So that's it! YAY! I LOVE CAMP!
I already can't wait for our yr 10 camp! then our yr 11 camp! Woo hoo!
